Do the Thing that You Most Want to Do

Sometimes I think we waste our time spinning around in circles doing what we are "supposed to be doing" instead of what it is we really want to do. I'm guilty of this myself. I'll putz around forcing myself to continue with a project or a path I really don't want to be on, just because it's what some phantom society in my mind says I'm supposed to do.

If a curiosity bubbles to the surface, pleading for your attention, that's what you need to be tending to. It's like a strange craving for seaweed. Maybe your body is trying to tell you that you need the nutrients from that plant. If encaustic painting is calling to you, then pick up some hot wax and start experimenting. If a road trip is calling you, then gas up and pack your bags!

The world is waiting and life is short. Don't waste your time looking "busy."
